Where to start, perhaps the beginning would be a good place!

Well here goes peeps; just a little explanation as to where I’m coming from first, by way of an introduction to my blog!

Years ago when I first moved into my present home and my kids were quite young, I used to grow a few flowers and just a few tomatoes, cucumbers and a few other bits and pieces. I loved my garden, most of the time it looked quite neat and tidy, never a show garden but I loved it anyway! I would spend hours messing about in my greenhouse raising seeds for my garden and to grow on in the greenhouse. I found it to be my little bit of heaven; hence the title of my blog!

Years passed and my relationship with my husband broke up. I lost all interest in my garden and my house; I would do just what had to be done to keep the house going. Having to look after the kids single-handed and try to keep a roof over our heads, well the garden had to take a back seat. It just turned to grass and weeds. I had neither the time, energy nor interest in keeping it going.

Moving on a fair bit, the kids have grown up now and moved on in their lives. We are still a close family and they visit often. Most of the time, that just leaves the 5 cats and me, to rattle about in the house. lol Last spring I set about redecorating my whole house and what a job that proved to be. I have had a little help along the way from the kids and a very few good friends, however most of the hard graft has been done by yours truly. There is just one room to go now and that is my bedroom, phew I breath I big sigh of relief! Lol this place now has my stamp all over it; yeah lol to me that’s all Irie!

Oh yeah and for those of you who are wondering, the word irie means good, cool, fine anything positive! Irie is a Jamaican word, mostly used as a response to the greeting form a friend when they say hi how are you. Your reply would be irie! However there are other circumstances in which the word might be used, i.e. feeling a bit merry from drink or even I the mood if you get my drift! lol

When I was doing up the house, I also had a long think about things! I decided that, as I am still single, got no one to answer to so I can do things in my own time and my way! Now the kids are off hand, I have more free time on my hands and food is getting ever more expensive so I thought to myself, why not give the poor old garden a once over and start to use it again! In between striping wallpaper, filling in cracks in the walls and woodwork in the house, painting walls, ceilings and so on; I have also got rid of masses and masses of triffids i.e weeds from my garden and cleared my old greenhouse out ready to start using again! The poor greenhouse needed lots of tlc as in a few new panes of glass and a good wash down inside and out. Thanks to someone on the Grape Vine who has become a good friend, the parts that needed to be re glazed have been done. I have given it a through spring clean and it is now full of baby plants all growing away nicely! :-)

P. S. Given a little time to work this blog thing out a bit more lol, From time to time, I will be adding some photoes and updates about my garden and perhaps a little more about my life so please watch this space! Thanks. :-)

Jah/God Bless all
